RACE-THERMAL-160-EPKO

Third native MSFS2020 thermals-only race in location where I often fly in real life (see photos from location below).

Start gate min height is 2296ft (700m).

Finish gate min height is 984ft (300m).

Other waypoints have no min height.

All waypoints max height is 6233ft (1899m).

Set date to 15 of July 2021 around noon.

This time wind is stronger (strength raising from 5 to 12 knots with height) from north-east.

After winch launch in direction 06 first thermal should be found instantly, but you may need to search for the strongest area to reach the top of the start gate.

Cloud base is around 6233ft (1900m) – 6889ft (2100m) so it is easier to penetrate in search for good thermals, but also expect large areas without clouds along the way.

Some clouds may provide wide updraft areas so it is possible to travel among energy lines.

It may be an easy task for high performance glider like AS 33, so I suggest to try flying it with lower performance gliders like Discus 2b or even Ka-6 (you can even  see a real one at location on the picture below 🙂 ) as because of wind and “blue” areas finishing it may be more challenging and fun. 🙂
